Managing a Stage Boundary - Ampere Association

Managing a Stage Boundary

Towards the end of a project stage the Managing a Stage Boundary process is used. The Project Board reviews the progress of the stage plan completed and approves that the next stage can begin. At the end of a stage the PID is reviewed (including the Business Case) and updated as required.

If there are any Work Packages with breached tolerances the Project Manager must identify if this affects the overall tolerances of the stage. If so, they must create an Exception Report and Plan to have approved by the Project Board.

Key Activities

  • Plan the next stage
  • Update the Project Plan
  • Update the Business Case
  • Create the End Stage Report
  • Produce an Exception Plan (if stage tolerances are breached)
