Manage by Stages

Projects are broken down into sections or stages in order to manage them more effectively and more accurately. At the end of each stage the progress of the plan is reviewed by the Project Board to see if the project is on track. Various documents should be updated and the business case should again be reviewed.

Tolerances should also be reviewed at the end of each stage to ensure no boundaries have been breached which may require change controls to adjust the trajectory of the project.  Tolerances will become clearer in the next section.
