This National AccessAbility Week, Ampere is celebrating how STEAM makes work, life and play more accessible, creating a stronger Kawartha Lakes community.

With multiple events and workshops from May 30th to June 6th, you’ll have the opportunity to meet gold-medal Paralympians and champions, explore accessible gaming, try out assistive technology AND enjoy fun activities like face painting and yoga for people of all ages!

Join us for an incredible week filled with innovation and truly incredible people.

AccessAbility in Motion

Take your shot at a wheelchair basketball clinic hosted by Tamara Steeves, 4x Paralympian and Commonwealth games Gold Medalist, and Eric Voss, Silver Medalist, Canada Games.

Accessibility doesn’t stop when we go online – these workshops, hosted by Ampere and Inclusion Arcade, feature truly incredible assistive technology designed to remove barriers to gaming and the digital world!

Integrated Accessible Tech

This youth and family-focused drop-in workshop examines how accessibility exists all around us in Kawartha Lakes, and in many cases, has become normal (from glasses to automatic doors), plus ways we can make our environment even more inclusive.

Explore low-barrier, emerging assistive technologies that have the potential to significantly expand disability inclusion.
