Curve Lake Makerspace
STEAM Education, Activities & Camps for the Curve Lake First Nation
Launched in 2022, in Partnership with the Curve Lake First Nation, this Makerspace would likely be described as small but mighty (just like many of the learners who visit it).
The Curve Lake Makerspace provides a central hub for creativity, innovation, and knowledge sharing. The space serves as a center for exploration of growth in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math that intersects with everyday living, language, and culture. If it’s creative in any shape or form, it has a home at the Curve Lake Makerspace.

Makerspace Activities and Education Opportunities
STEAM Discovery Days
Saturday Drop-In, Year Round
It’s not a class, it’s an adventure — stop by the Makerspace on Saturdays throughout the year and discover science, technology, engineering, art and math experiences for youth aged 6–13. Parents are welcome to stay and play or drop kids off (dependent upon volume of attendees). It’s a different experience, and a different FUN activity every week!
STEAM Skill Builds
After School Programming
Youth aged 6–13 can launch rockets, create video games, program robots to clean their rooms and conduct scientific experiments that may or may not involve things exploding. STEAM Skill Builds are held on the same day each week, typically for five weeks, and last for 90 minutes each. Participants develop new science, technology, engineering, art or math skills, within their area of interest.
STEAM Creator Camps
Summer Programming, Winter Programming
Build knowledge, friendships and a HECK of a lot more — with Ampere! Our STEAM Creator Camps bring learning to life for youth ages 6-13. Each camp has its own theme, from engineering, to arts and science to game development. Unlock your child’s imagination (and inner mad scientist).
