Elders are the keepers of knowledge, culture and tradition – Ampere works extensively with Indigenous communities to create STEAM education programs specifically for Elders that allow them explore our STEAM powered world, share all that they know, create and communicate. This programming is completely free, whether it’s bringing an existing program to your community, or working with you to create an education program that is customized for your needs.
Sample Elder Programs
Connected Elders
This program aims to help each Elder find a way to integrate a tablet into their life in a meaningful way. This circle time is an opportunity to listen and ask questions to learn what will be most helpful and practical through this training to each Elder.
Online Safety
Learners will understand how to protect their personal information while online, source reliable information online for their ongoing protection and how to do a safety check-up on their devices and computer.
Stitches and Switches
The Stitches & Switches Booklet includes activities that explore and blend sewing and technology to get creative with electronic circuits.
