Resources for Coding for Your Community – Scratch

Congratulations on completing your course. This page offers you more resources and next steps.

We’ve gathered together Scratch activities and lesson plans for you. More resources will be added to this collection regularly! If you have an idea for Scratch projects that put Community, Language and Culture at the heart that you would like help to develop, please let us know!

Natsiq Hunter leads you through coding a game in Scratch where the target, Mr. Seal, pops up in different places, through a random number selection. In the story game, Responsibilities to Mother Earth, you will create a branching story narrative based on the choice to care for our environment and Mother Earth. Both of these games can be remixed to put your Community, Language and Culture at the centre.

Introduction to Algorithms and the Scratch Basics series focus on coding. The Scratch Basics Series are bite-sized tutorials that teach you how to code simple actions which you can use to build a game or interactive story. Remember that interactive story games in Scratch support Language Revitalization as they can be created in any language and writing system and can include audio recordings!
