About

AI is already embedded in most professional workflows and the question is no longer whether to use it, but how to use it in ways that are defensible, safe, and genuinely effective. This session covers the practical frameworks and habits that support responsible AI use across professional contexts: how to evaluate tools before adopting them, how to handle sensitive data appropriately, how to recognize and reduce bias in AI outputs, and how to build transparency into your workflow. The session also touches on Canada's evolving privacy landscape, the environmental cost of generative AI, and the growing risk of AI-generated deepfakes. Attendees will leave this session with a drafted set of AI use guidelines for their own team or role. This workshop is presented in partnership with IBM. Workshop participants will gain access to IBM's AI for Sustainability credential after attending this session.
