Ampere unveils organization’s economic impact in Kawartha Lakes and across Ontario

Ampere’s contributions to the gross domestic product, jobs and tax revenues, through capital investment, operational spending and visitor spending from 2021 through 2025 were included in the Economic Impact Assessment presented to Kawartha Lakes Council on Tuesday (April 7).

Through a unique partnership with UBC’s MET program, Ampere is helping graduate students turn research into meaningful, real-world impact across Canada.

In a 1990s Grade 10 computer science classroom in Lindsay, Ontario, Rob Mathers wasn’t just teaching computers, he was building confidence, curiosity, and belonging. Today, his legacy lives on through Ampere and the newly named Mathers Room, a lasting tribute to a teacher whose impact continues to ripple far beyond the classroom.
